What is Nordic walking?

Nordic walking was originally started in the 1930's by the Finnish cross country skiing team to help them keep fit over the summer.

Nordic walking uses poles, similar to those used in skiing, to support and propel you forwards during walking, allowing you to use more muscle groups and energy than normal walking.

Nordic walking and running are extremely popular in Europe and practised by all ages as a full body workout in nature.
